OPEN CALL AIR AMSTERDAM

ZID theater is excited to open this call and invite a visual artist from the Netherlands to apply for the residency program within the European project “Remix Comix” from 1-15 of May, in Amsterdam.

The invitation is open to visual artists, based in the Netherlands, regardless of country of origin and with no restrictions regarding age. ZID provides accommodation and a fee for the participants of the residency.

“Remix Comix” is a project supported by the European Commission through the Creative Europe program, and is taking place in cooperation with six associations – MMC Led art Novi Sad, Lustr Fest Prague, Komunikart Pančevo, Forum Ljubljana, Zid teather Amsterdam and Foundation Novi Sad.

The project aims to explore the local cultural heritage of microenvironments, specific historical moments, significant figures, urban legends and heroes from the region, and present them to the audience through the form of comics. The specificity of the project is that the local cultural heritage will be viewed from the point of view of socially sensitive and vulnerable groups, whose representatives will be involved in working with artists. The ultimate goal of the AIR program is the creation of a work of art in the form of comics in the public space.

Five participants from four countries – the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Serbia – will collaborate on the same task during two weeks of joint work. The resident’s working language will be English.
